Adam Lambert enlists Bonnie McKee, Tommy English for fourth album

Adam Lambert has enlisted the songwriting and production services of Bonnie McKee and Tommy English for his upcoming fourth album.

McKee previously co-wrote “Cuckoo” and “Chokehold” for Lambert alongside regular collaborators Josh Abraham and Oliver “Oligee” Goldstein. Both tracks appear on Lambert’s sophomore studio collection, 2012’s “Trespassing,” which topped to the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Meanwhile, English – who is signed to Pulse Music Group – is known for his songwriting and productions credits with BØRNS (“Electric Love”), Dark Waves (“Echo”), New Politics (“Everywhere I Go”), Black Veil Brides (“Devil In The Mirror”) and Makua Rotham (“Lost In Translation”).

Adam Lambert has teamed up with Big Taste for a new collaboration.

The New Zealand vocalist, songwriter and record producer – born Leroy Clampitt – is known for his works with Justin Bieber (“Company”), Maty Noyes (“Falling Out of Love”), Jake Miller (“Overnight”), MAALA (“Hush”), Sage the Gemini (“Now and Later”), Train (“Ziplock of Sunshine”), Jupiter Project (“You and Me”), Boulevards (“The Spot”) and JAHKOY (“Hold Your Hand”).

Big Taste’s resume boasts additional collaborations with fellow songwriters/producers including Joe London, Amanda “MNDR” Warner, James “JHart” Abrahart, Rachel “RAYE” Keen, Fred Gibson, Janee “Jin Jin” Bennett, Rachel “RAYE” Keen, Ian Kirkpatrick, and James “Gladius” Wong.

Meanwhile, Lambert is reportedly working on his fourth album and is expected to release it later this year via Warner Brothers Records.

I have been a most ardent Adam Lambert fan these past five years, but as you faithful readers of my scribblings well know, my passion for him has never blinded me to his human failings and limitations. I was smitten by his godlike talents as a vocalist, by his stage personas and his charisma, but I think that what really fuels my obsession is my conviction that he could be so, so much more.

Writing a review of the Queen + Adam Lambert tour requires a balancing act, a miniature version of the vertiginous tightrope Adam himself must navigate every night he is out there in front of thousands of fans who idolize one of greatest frontmen in rock and roll history. How to confront the godlike ghost of Freddie Mercury, to measure up to his glorified memory without enraging those who worship in his temple?

As for me, on the one hand, it’s all about Adam, but on the other, it’s about something so much larger. It’s almost too much to take in, this massive, 135-minute show that barely skims the surface of the enormous Queen songbook, through which Adam de Lambert makes a pilgrim’s progress of multiple personas, each setting off thunderclaps of emotion in a Glambert’s breast. Overwhelming.

Twenty-five years ago, the idea of Queen ever performing a rock concert at Madison Square Garden again, let alone America, would have seemed out of the question. During most of the ‘80s and early ‘90s, the British band’s popularity in the States was at an all-time low — although Queen conquered the rest of the world with its hit albums and sell-out shows.
